History

The Divine Light was formed in 08th September, 1999, under society registration Act 1860.

November 1999 , The Divine Light started Health check-up camps & computer training program in Begampr & Adchini Village of South Delhi, at that period Venue – A-62, First floor, Village Adchine, New Delhi – 110017

May 2002 The Divine Light started working in slum areas of South Delhi , Jhugi Jhopari colony Tigri, Sanjay Camp Dakhinpuri, Jhugi Jhopari colony Madangir and three Camps of Govindpuri (Bhumihin Camp, Jawar Lal Nehru Camp & Janta Jeevan Camp), programs was FAMILY HEALTH AWARENESS, HIV/AIDS, STD,RTI awareness campaigns and Health check-up camps in slum area of South Delhi & village areas and Nokha, District – Rohtas (Sasaram) Bihar.

December 2003 Municipal Corporation of Delhi allotted Community Hall in Jhugi Jhopari Colony Tigri for NGO functioning & supporting the Slum Dwellers .

February 2004 to June 2010 THE DIVINE LIGHT was actively working at Municipal Corporation of Delhi Community Center , J.J.Colony Tigri, New Delhi – 110062.

Since 2004 to 2010 The Divine Light started different welfare activities:

Vocational Training & Educational program-

• Started Nursery classes for labours small children(Bal Bari) Tigri
• Started Remedial classes for school drop-out children.
• Hand Embroidery classes
• Machine Embroidery
• Beauty Culture & Wellness
• July 2004 to March 2008 working under Surva Siksha Abhiyan (Education to all) Program in five Sectors 2, 3, 4,5 & 6 sectors of R. K Puram New Delhi- 22
• March 2007 Health check up camp started in Bandh dih ,Jaina more , Dist- Bokaro, JharKhand.
• May 2009 Open Basic Education under Adult literacy prog, NIOS Govt of India, started in Bandh dih ,Jaina more , Dist- Bokaro, JharKhand.

And other Awareness Programs—

• HIV/AIDS, STD &RTI awareness camps, campaigns, workshops & conferences.
• Anti smoking & Anti Tobacco awareness in Slum areas.
• Awareness Generation Program Slum & Rural women & adolescent girls.
